Mojibake Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SommSnap mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use SommSnap.
By using SommSnap, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Camera and Photos
SommSnap uses your device camera to scan wine lists, bottles, shelves, and party selections. Images are processed using Google Cloud Vision for optical character recognition (OCR) to extract text from wine labels and menus. Images are processed for analysis and are not stored permanently on our servers.
AI Processing
Extracted text and image data from your wine scans are sent to Claude AI to generate personalized wine recommendations through our AI sommelier, Henri. This data is used solely to provide you with recommendations and is not used to train AI models.
Account Information
If you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile preferences (taste preferences, dietary restrictions)
Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication.
Subscription Information
SommSnap offers five subscription tiers managed through Apple's StoreKit 2. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status from Apple.
Usage Analytics
We collect basic usage analytics to improve the app experience, such as feature usage frequency and scan types. We do not use advertising trackers or share analytics data with third parties.

Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, solely to operate the app:

- Firebase (Google) – for authentication and data storage
- Apple – for subscription and payment processing
Data Retention
Scanned images are processed in real time and are not stored permanently. Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Advertising
SommSnap does not display advertisements and does not share data with advertising networks.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access – Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Deletion – Request deletion of your personal data
- Correction – Request correction of inaccurate data
- Opt-out – Opt out of data collection where applicable

SommSnap is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
